Unthread™

Shift the Threads of Your Story. Shape the Legacy You Choose

There comes a point in many women’s lives when something quietly stops fitting.

From the outside, life may look fine, even successful.

You cope. You care. You hold a lot together.

And yet:

  • Certain emotional reactions feel bigger than the moment
  • Familiar patterns keep repeating despite insight or effort
  • Responsibility feels heavy, even when no one has asked
  • A sense of “this didn’t start with me” begins to surface

This is not failure.

And it is not weakness.

It is often the moment a woman reaches a threshold.

Feeling this way?

Begin your Unthread™ journey with our intro workshop.

Unthread™ The Thread-Shifting Framework Created by Jackie Connaughton. This signature method combines reflective, somatic, and intergenerational exploration, complementing private 1:1 therapy at Counselling JCT.

Unthread™ is for women at a threshold

Whether you are just beginning

to look inward or ready to go deeper, Unthread™ is for women who want to:

  • Understand inherited patterns shaping their emotional and relational life
  • Explore how those patterns live in the body
  • Consciously choose the legacy they want to live from

It’s gentle, invitational, and trauma-informed, designed to help women see their story clearly without feeling overwhelmed.

The Story Beneath the Story

Every woman carries stories.

Some are lived.

Some are learned.

Some are inherited quietly, without language or consent.

For years, I did not realise how many of the threads I carried were not truly mine. They were echoes of my

parents’ stories, and theirs before them.

Like many women, I lived between who I had been taught to be and who I sensed I could become.

When I began exploring my own history, emotionally, relationally, and in my body, something shifted.

  • Patterns began to make sense
  • Reactions softened
  • Compassion replaced self-blame

Not because the past disappeared, but because it became understood.

Unthread™ grew from that realisation.

If the first generation experiences something, and the second adapts to survive it, then the third has

a rare opportunity:

to notice

to name

and to choose

I don’t believe in breaking cycles. I believe in shifting threads, with awareness, courage, and compassion.

What Makes Unthread™ Different

Unthread™ is not about fixing, forcing, or reliving the past.

It is a gentle, symbolic, and embodied way of understanding:

  • How inherited stories shape emotional and relational patterns
  • How those stories live in the body
  • How conscious choice becomes possible once patterns are seen

Women do not erase their past in this work. They honour it. They understand it. And they decide what

continues, and what does not.

This is vocational work. It is the legacy I want to leave other women: a way of meeting the past without

rupture, and shaping the future without self-betrayal.

The Threads of Self™ Framework

At the heart of Unthread™ are 7 Threads of Self™, each represented by a colour and theme. In our workshops, you select the thread that calls to you intuitively, then explore it through reflection, somatic exercises, and symbolic activities.

These threads guide your Unthread™ journey, helping you understand where your story began, how it lives in your body today, and what you want to weave next.

How Unthread™ Works

Stories do not live in one place. They live in memory, emotion, relationships, culture, and in the body itself.

To make this work feel safe, intuitive, and non-overwhelming, Unthread™ uses a symbolic framework called

The 7 Threads of Self™:

  • Ancestry & Courage
  • Emotional Patterns
  • Creativity & Choice
  • Somatic Safety
  • Belonging & Heritage
  • Relationships
  • Legacy & Release

In workshops, women are invited to choose the thread that calls to them. There is no right place to

begin. Choice itself is part of the healing.

The colours and symbolism act as containment, allowing complex inner work to unfold gently, without forced disclosure or

pressure.

The Unthread™ Journey

While there are seven threads, the journey unfolds through four developmental themes, creating a clear

beginning, middle, and integration

Awareness & Inheritance — understanding origins and strengths

Emotional & Somatic Clarity — building safety and insight

Creativity, Choice & Relationships — exploring new ways of being

Legacy & Forward Vision — integration and conscious future shaping

This structure allows women to:

  • Encounter all seven threads safely
  • Explore patterns without overwhelm
  • Move at a pace that honours the nervous system
  • Experience coherence rather than fragmentation

Many women begin with a single introductory workshop and immediately recognise patterns that had previously felt

confusing or personal. From there, each woman chooses her own path.
